Obituary of Ruth Eleanor Hastey
HASTEY RUTH - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 Ruth Eleanor (Weatherby) Hastey, wife of the late Maurice Hastey of St Stephen, NB. Born in St Stephen she is the daughter of the late Colin Campbell & Bessie Jane (Hitchings) Weatherby. Ruth was a longtime active member of Milltown United Church involved with its UCW. Her famous baked beans were always a big hit at all the church suppers. For approximately 22 years she worked in the payroll dept of Flakeboard. In previous years she worked at the Canadian Cottons in Milltown and also in Hamilton Ontario. Those who knew her knew she loved shopping and her friends and cousins. She loved her cats and her family gatherings. She is survived by her 2 daughters Cathy & Cindy Hastey, both of St Stephen, NB, and her best friend Lois Weatherby, several nieces and nephews and four sisters in law. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 … 466 … 3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Saturday October 27th, 2012 at 3:30 pm The interment will take place in St Stephen Rural Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Friday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9 pm.
