Obituary of Josephine Calder
Josephine Calder (Wren) Wife of the late Melvin E. Calder Josephine (Jo) Calder, age 102, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrew’s NB. Born in Bootle, England, near Liverpool, on March 18, 1916, she was the youngest daughter of the late Captain Joseph Ranby and Frances Ina (Clark) Wren. Josephine's parents returned to St. Andrews at the end of World War I and she grew up there. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Guinan (Tom) of Truro, NS; son, Hugh Calder (Elaine) of Kelowna, BC; granddaughter, Brianna Christensen (Paul) of Edmonton, Alta., and grandson, Joshua of Kelowna, BC., and niece and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her sisters Frances and Lelia Wren, and Bessie Medcof. A memorial service in celebration of Josephine's life will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2019 at 11:00 am at All Saints Anglican Church, King Street, St. Andrews, NB. Archdeacon John Matheson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrew’s, NB or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks St., St. Stephen, NB. E3L 2B2. (506-466-3110). The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Passamaquoddy Lodge for the excellent care and assistance given to Jo during her residency at the lodge.
