Obituary of Bill Foster
FOSTER BILL - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 William “Bill” Frederick Foster, husband of Dorilla (Allain) Foster of St. Stephen, NB. Born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB; he is the son of the late Gordon & Beatrice (Joy) Foster. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force enlisting in 1953 in Boston, Mass. He was then stationed in San Antonio, Texas. He returned to Canada in 1963 and started work with the Dept. of Transportation in in St. Stephen. He was a life member of the Lions Club and was a dedicated member helping over the years with various fundraising projects such as Santas Helpers. He also volunteered a lot of his time to the Alzheimers Society, Cancer Society and Parkinsons Foundation. He was a life member of the Scoodic Fish & Game. Bill loved the outdoors trout fishing and hunting. Surviving in addition to his wife Dorilla are his son Leonard of Andersonville, his daughter Marla Foster of St. Stephen, 2 grandchildren Evan (Jessica) and Falon, 2 brothers Dick (Claire) and Tom (Gladys), one sister Mary Foster all of Grand Manan, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by 3 brothers, James, John and Douglas, 2 sisters, Kaye DeVeau and Jean Ingersoll. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. John Stewart, nurses and staff of the Charlotte County Hospital for their kind and compassionate care shown to them and Bill during his stay there. By Bill’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lions Club of St Stephen, Charlotte Co. Cancer Society, Alzheimers Society or Parkinsons Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
