Obituary of Robert Mitchell Lunn
LUNN ROBERT MITCHELL - Lexington, MA … Robert Mitchell Lunn, 94, of Lexington MA, died peacefully after a short illness on July 28th, 2018. Born July 19th, 1924, in St. Stephen, NB, where he married the love of his life,Audrey Kathleen Groom, also born in St. Stephen, NB, who passed in September 2015. They were married for 68 years., son of Helen Leone Hall & Oscar Lunn. Robert graduated from the University of Maine Orono 1944 at age of 19 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went into the service following college and was a Seaman First Class in the US Navy during WW11. He worked for the St. Croix Paper Mill which later became Georgia … Pacific Cochran Steam Specialty, Arthur D. Little, CTI Cryogenics, and Koch Processing. He held a patent for the Cryogenic Refrigerator plus many other patents. He worked at Cape Canaveral on liquid helium for the rocket program. He also supervised the building of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile System Silos. Audrey & Linton lived in Quincy MA, until they bought land and built their own house in 1958 in Lexington. Bob is survived by his brother Howard and his wife Carol of Palm City Florida, currently living in MA, his son Howard and his wife Linda Richards; his daughter Linda and her husband Lenley Rafuse, and his son Mark and his wife Linda. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Cheryl, John, Eric, Laura, Christopher, Peter and his step grand daughter Ilean and step great grandson Dale. He will be greatly missed. A small family ceremony at the Calais Cemetery will take place on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at 11:00 am Cdn time) (10:00 am US time) All friends and family are welcome to attend. A reception will follow at Humphreys Funeral Home Reception Centre, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB at 12:00 noon Canadian.
