Obituary of Jacqueline Elizabeth Brenton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline “Jackie” Elizabeth Brenton, age 69, at the Grand Manan hospital, Grand Manan, NB, on Saturday, August 22, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Jackie was born on Grand Manan, NB;  she is the daughter of Nellie Eloise (Guptill) Huckins and the late Leon “Jack” Chester Huckins.
In Jackie’s younger years she worked at the fish plant on Grand Manan, then later enjoyed working with the Grand Manan Nursing Home.
She met Roger on Grand Manan, got married, and moved to Comfort Cove, Newfoundland.  She lived in Comfort Cove for over 20 years where she developed a strong community of friends.  She loved her NL church family and CCN Crew meant everything to her.  She was sad when she could no longer attend anymore.
In February 2026 she made the decision to return to Grand Manan, NB to spend precious time with her family.  This time was very important to Jackie.  She made many memories that her family will cherish dearly.        She built new relationships with her children that gave her much delight and filled her heart.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her father Jack and her beloved husband, Roger Kelly Boyd Brenton.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Danita (Davey), Danny (Lindsay), and Devin (Amanda); grandchildren: Jaymin, Danen, Alyah, and Tia; great grandchildren: Scottie and Lila; her mother Nellie, sister Joan (Russell), and brother Alan (Jody); and a large circle of family and friends in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.  There will be a private family tribute at Wood Island cemetery, Wood Island, NB at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Action Ministries of Grand Manan or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  On line condolences to the family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com .
Jackie was kind hearted and loved deeply by everyone who was special to her.  She will be missed beyond measures.
“Be free my friend, you are forever loved.”
