Mulvihill, William Paul
It is with broken hearts that the family of Willam Paul Mulvihill announces his passing on Tuesday September 23, 2025, at the age of 95. With his wife of 67 years, Joyce by his side, Paul peacefully passed away at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre in Hampton NB.
Paul was born and raised in Pembroke ON. While attending University in Fredericton NB, Paul met M. Joyce Campbell, the love of his life, and they married August 30, 1958. He finished his BA from UNB, completed his teaching degree from the Ontario College of Education and received his master’s degree from the University of Ottawa. A teacher in Ottawa ON for over 30 years, Paul taught at the High School of Commerce and Woodroffe High School, finishing his career as a guidance councillor.
A devoted family man, Paul enjoyed being outdoors in his gardens and relaxing with a good book. Always a man of strong faith, Paul was active in the church and involved with parish functions. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved Joyce.
As empty nesters, Paul and Joyce were drawn to the beautiful seaside community of St Andrews NB to start the next chapter of their lives. While living in St Andrews for over 20 years, Paul loved being part of the community and participating in all parish activities.
Paul is survived by his wife, Joyce, Hampton NB; son Bill Mulvihill (Darlene), Ottawa; daughters Anne Viljoen (David), Ottawa; Patti Kennedy (Joe), Hampton NB; and three foster children (Rosemarie, Shaun and Patrick). He was a treasured Papa to Joshua (Kaitlin); Emily (Mark); Mikaela (Will); Daniel (Sophie); Madeline (Greg); Olivia Joy (Kyle); Jessica and Liam. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents William L Mulvihill and Genevieve Grace, Pembroke ON; his sister Jane Galligan (Jack), Ottawa ON; and brother Thomas Mulvihill (Loretta), Pembroke ON.
A time of visitation will take place at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Andrews (212 Parr St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1M3) on Friday October 3, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to take place at the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery and a reception will be held in the church basement.
