Maude moved to St. Stephen several years ago from Granby where she lived for so many years and was a longtime member of St. George’s Anglican Church and dearly loved being a member of their choir. In St. Stephen she made many friends while playing bridge in a number of local groups. Maude was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and a greatly respected role model as the matriarch of the family. She could share so much history of the life and times she has lived. She was a formidable force, resilient, wise, and above all, always a lady. Maude is survived by her children son Peter Heelis (Norah) of St. Stephen, NB, daughter Nancy Dunn (Robert) of Morell, P.E.I, sister Guyla Premont of Cowansville, Quebec, 7 grandchildren, Pierre Heelis (Shannon McGinn) of Fredericton, NB, Alexya Heelis (Scot DeJong) of Quispamsis, NB, Robin Heelis (Jennifer Ross) of St Stephen, NB, Amanda Botur (Freddie) of Longmont, Colorado, Timothy Dunn (Sara Landau) of Montréal, Quebec, Matthew Dunn (Alison Palmer) of Mill Valley, California, and Megan Dunn of North Hatley, Quebec, 12 great grandchildren Zekiah, Porter, Peter, Mae, Maude, Ocean, Lander, Kestrel, Sadie, Zephyr, Elle and Payton, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Maude was predeceased by her son Donald Robin Heelis, her two sisters Beatrice and Alice, and her three brothers Delbert, Howard and Lyle. A memorial service will take place in summer in Granby, Quebec with an interment in Pinewood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Donald. In lieu of flowers donations to The Braintumour Foundation of Canada or to GanongNaturePark would be appreciated by the family.
