I was saddened to hear of Garrie’s sudden passing. I served with Garrie in the CF for many years and also worked with him in civilian life. Garrie was always a gentleman and an outstanding human being. He was a natural storyteller and proud Newfoundlander. When he was spinning his stories, it always brought me back to my roots, hearing stories like we were at the kitchen table in some Newfoundland outport. I will truly miss his humor and his friendship. RIP Garrie my friend

Marney, I am loss for words to tell you how very sorry & heartbroken I am for you. You two just connected with me in your love for God & music. Garrie was such a gentleman, caring, & always willing to help our short time together playing guitars. He is certainly in a better place, a place we as Christians are all striving for. Our Lord's return is intimate, & we will be with our loved ones forever. What a hope we have to look forward to! Ps 46:1 (God is our refuge & strength, a very present help in trouble.) May you draw strength, comfort & peace from the Lord today, & all of your tomorrows. My thoughts & prayers extended to you. God Bless

Garrie will be greatly missed by all who served alongside him in the Army and in later years at Calian.
He was a great soldier, friend and mentor. He was never one to miss sharing a good joke. His humour and laughter made him the life of the party wherever he went.
Take care Marney and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
