Obituary of Sheridan L. Brown
BROWN SHERIDAN L. - The death of Sheridan Lindsay Brown, husband of Joanne (Thomas) Brown occurred at Lincourt Manor in St. Stephen, NB, on Saturday, December 19th, 2015. Born January 16, 1930 in Saint John, NB; he was the son of the late Robert B.& Verna (Lindsay) Brown. The family moved to Old Ridge, NB in 1940. Sheridan will be lovingly remembered by Joanne, his wife of 65 years, and his children Susan (Steven) Trevor, James(Katie)Brown, Sandra Brown and Peter(Helen Johnston)Brown, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his sister in law, Jean Brown, widow of his brother,Carleton. Sheridan spent the majority of his working life in the automobile business, primarily with J. Clark & Sons Ltd where he worked for 32 years, until 1980. He also worked as a Rentalsman for the Province of New Brunswick for eight years before he retired in 1990. Sheridan was a passionate fisherman, curler and sailor and family man. He was a longtime active member of Kirk McColl United Church and a past member of Sussex Lodge # 7 F & A.M. The family would like to thank the staff of Lincourt Manor for their thoughtful care provided to him. As well the family wishes to thank those caregivers who helped Sheridan while he was able to live at home. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Tuesday from 3 – 5 pm at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street St Stephen, NB (506 – 466 – 3110). A memorial service in celebration of his life on will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd at Kirk McColl United Church, at 2:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Mark Hatfield will officiate. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall. The interment will take place at Moores Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Lincourt Manor or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
